W. Diehl, 81, of Milton, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014,
peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
was born October 7, 1933 in Valley Township, a son of the late Robert and
Martha (Williams) Diehl.
May 3, 1958, he married the former Eleanor Lobach, who survives, breaking a
marital union of 56 years.
a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation,
Clyde was employed for 21 years by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company,
working through the ranks from laborer to Line Crew Leader. He was drafted
into the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Germany during the Korean
War Era from October 1954 to October 1956. He was a supporter of the Potts
Grove Volunteer Fire Company.
greatest joys in his retirement years were directing the operation of his
farmette, lawn mowing and spending quality time with his children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. He delighted in attending their
various activities including sports, drama and music. Everyone looked
forward to "Pop" cheering them on.
addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by his children, Debbie Horton
(Walter), Charles Diehl (Marcia), Holly Albert (David), Clyde Diehl, Jr.
(Carol), and Hope Rudloff and his grandchildren, Jessica Miller (Zachary),
Melissa Horton, Nicolas Diehl (Lois), Noah Diehl (Jeanette), Nevin Diehl
(Barbara Kalin), Nathaniel Diehl (Jessica), Neal Diehl (Amy), Danielle
Anderson (Wesley), Rachel Albert, Joshua Albert, Caleb Albert, Andrew Diehl,
Lauren Diehl, Courtney Rudloff and Carley Rudloff and his great
grandchildren, Evan Diehl, Hannah Diehl, Eli Diehl, Elizabeth Diehl, Joanna
Diehl, Cleome Kalin-Diehl, Kash Chafee and Jonah Miller; his siblings Nelson
Diehl, James Williams, Lee Williams, James Diehl, Letitia Beiter, Anna
Louise Willoughby, and Barbara Reynolds. Clyde was predeceased by brothers;
Frank Diehl, Daniel Diehl, Robert Diehl, Clark Williams and by sisters;
Thelma Styers, Rose Farnsworth and Martha Knight.
Visitation will be held at Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker Street,
Williamsport, PA on Saturday, December 27th, 9-10:45 am. Service
will be held at 11 am, followed by burial at Twin Hills Memorial Park, 3332
Lycoming Mall Road, Muncy, PA. Military rites will be accorded by the United
States Army Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
the American Cancer Society 1948 East Third Street Williamsport PA 17701 or
Potts Grove Volunteer Fire Company 12 Firehouse Lane Potts Grove PA 17865.
