Robert W. Pick, 85

January 31, 2013

Robert W. Pick, 85, of 41 Mateo Drive, Danville, and formerly of Rushtown, Northumberland County, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville, PA.  He was born March 26, 1927 in Rush Twp, Northumberland County, the son of the late Charles A. and Bertha E. Forney Pick. 

Robert graduated from Danville High School in 1944 and also from the Bloomsburg State Teachers College with a degree in Business. 

He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945 and served as a Yeoman.  

Mr. Pick was employed by the First National Bank for 42 years and retired in 1992 as head cashier.  

He was a member of St. Peterís United Methodist Church in Riverside and had served as a Trustee and Treasurer. Robert was also a member of the Danville Lions Club. 

He enjoyed gardening and carpentry. 

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley L. Krum Pick, whom he married November 14, 1953.  He is also survived by one son Duane R. Pick and his wife, Yalonda, of Troy, PA and one daughter, Debra K. Eddy and her husband David of Anchorage, Alaska. Also surviving him are four granddaughters, Chelsea, Megan, Kaylie, and Marle Pick and two grandsons, Michael and Jason Eddy. Robert is also survived by two brothers, Charles O. Pick of North Jackson, Ohio and Boyd E. Pick of Danville, PA.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Allison Pick in infancy.    

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services, Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM from St. Peterís United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, PA 17868, with his pastor, the Reverend Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until 10:45AM at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Peterís United Methodist Church, P.O.
