Grace Leona Webb, 103, Heritage Heights, Danville PA went home to be with
her Lord surrounded by her family Friday morning, August 9, 2013 at
Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville PA. She was born
June 10, 1910 in Mainville PA the daughter of the late Wilbur and Emma Rice
She was married for 52 years to the late Howard A. “Baldy” Webb who preceded
her in death in 1985. They were married June 27, 1932 in Turbotville PA.
Mrs. Webb was employed for several years in the Housekeeping Department at
Geisinger Medical Center from where she retired.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville PA where she had served
on the Altar Guild and the Parish Visitors Committee, visiting and sharing
compassion for the shut-ins.
She enjoyed gardening and loved cooking and baking for her family. Mrs.
Webb was always knowledgeable and up to date on current events. In earlier
years, she spent memorable times horseback riding with her grandchildren.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending quality time with her family
whom she adored.
Mrs. Webb is survived by one son, Joseph A. Webb and his wife Eileen of
Elverson PA and one daughter Laura J. Ashenfelder and her husband Barry of
Danville PA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In
addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons; Howard P.
Webb and Ronald G. Webb and one daughter, Mary Lou Seksinsky. She was also
preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Grace’s life to
be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church East
Market and Church Street with the Reverend Chad Hebrink, interim pastor,
officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Danville PA. Friends
will be received from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM in the small chapel at the
