E. James, Sr., 92, of 290 Stump Road Danville PA passed away Saturday,
September 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1921 in Mooresburg
PA the son of the late Joseph W. and Rebecca Ritter James.
earlier years, Mr. James was a crop farmer. He was employed by American
Home Foods in Milton PA as a machine operator, retiring in 1985. After he
retired, he was a school bus driver for Bogart Buses for 16 years. He was
also employed by the Liberty Township Supervisors for five years. Mr. James
was a member of Mooresburg United Methodist Church, Milton Masonic Lodge
#256 F & AM and the Liberty Township Fire Company.
enjoyed hunting and camping. His greatest joy in life was spending time
with his family.
survived by his wife of 51 years, B. Ruth Dye James, whom he married April
also survived by four sons; Thomas E. James, Jr. and his wife Gail of
Danville PA; John James and his wife Audrey of Catawissa PA; Timothy James
and his wife Grace of Danville PA; Randy James of Danville PA and three
daughters; Charlotte Sarkany and her husband Louis of Milton PA; Bonnie
Wells and her husband Paul D. of Milton PA and Jane Strickler and her
husband James of Texas; three stepsons; Edward Aikey and his wife Bonnie of
Milton PA; Larry Aikey and his wife Jane of Danville PA and Ronald Aikey
and his wife Caren of Florida and one stepdaughter; Sandra Romig and her
husband William of Millville. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 29
great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. He is survived by
one brother, Harry James of Bloomsburg PA. Also surviving is one sister,
Sara May of Bloomsburg PA. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph
James; two brothers; Lyman and Orville James; and four sisters; Florence
Stephens, Bertha Hufford, Ethel Steckley and Martha Davis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held
Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Mooresburg United Methodist Church
7 Sholes Road Mooresburg PA with the Reverend Allen F. Acor officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00
AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to either the church or Columbia-Montour Home
Hospice Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA 17815.
