Thelma J. Stine

September 3, 2013

Thelma J. Stine, 91, of 235 Black Run Road, Madison Township, Bloomsburg PA, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at her residence.  She was born March 3, 1922 in Centre Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Samuel and Arminta L. Young English. 

She graduated from Jerseytown schools.  Thelma was a homemaker for most of her life and especially enjoyed working alongside her husband on the family farm.  She was also employed by the Bloomsburg Silk Mill and Milco in earlier years. 

She was a member of Dutch Hill Emmanuel Bible Church. 

Thelma loved crafting, especially sewing, knitting and crocheting.  She enjoyed plastic canvas crafts and especially loved to make blankets.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. 

She was married for 58 years to Robert C. Stine who preceded her in death April 1, 2004.  They were married December 8, 1945.   

She is survived by three sons; Douglas R. Stine and his wife Billie Jo of Danville PA; Harry K. Stine of Colorado Springs Colorado and Jimmie C. Stine of Bloomsburg PA.  Also surviving are three grandchildren; Jarrod D., Shanna J. and Ariel N. Stine. 

She is survived by two sisters; Esther Lyons of Danville PA and Ona Kappas of Bloomsburg PA.

 and one brother, Walter English of Bloomsburg PA.   She was preceded in death by one son; Larry W. Stine and one daughter; Jean W. Stine; both on November 7, 1955.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Clarence, Delbert and Clark English and one sister Lena Lyons. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Allen F. Acor officiating.  Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA.  Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of service.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Dutch Hill Emmanuel Bible Church 592 Dutch Hill Road Bloomsburg PA  17815.  www.visneski.com
