Mary A. Laubach

Mary A. Laubach, 87, of Heritage Heights, Danville PA and formerly of 713 East Market Street Danville PA passed away Tuesday evening, October 8, 2013 at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville PA surrounded by her family. She was born June 18, 1926 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Margaret M. Hogendobler Payne. 

She graduated from Danville High School in 1945. 

She attended St. James United Church of Christ Danville PA where she served at many church functions and banquets.   

Mary was a friend to everyone who loved to talk.  In her younger days, she was an outstanding bowler, attending many tournaments and winning various awards.  She was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews as well as like a grandmother to her numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  She was always the life of the party with her wit and spunk.  In 1983 Mary was named volunteer of the year for the Danville Chapter of the American Red Cross for her numerous years of service working at the local bloodmobiles in the canteen. 

She was married for 44 years to the late Theron S. Laubach who preceded her in death in 1995.   

She was preceded in death by an infant son in 1960.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, George "Nook" Payne in 1993 and her sister and best friend, Betty J. Lynn in 2011.  

She is survived by three nephews; Dr. Larry L. Lynn and his wife Frances of Texas, Dale E. Lynn and his wife Shirley of Phoenixville PA and George K. Lynn and his wife Ann Marie of Berwick PA.  Also surviving are two nieces; Linda L. Weaver of Danville PA and Connie B. Ryan and her husband Michael of Elysburg as well as seven great-nieces and six great-nephews, nine great-great nieces and four great-great nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to St, James United Church of Christ 2507 Bloom Road Danville PA or Columbia Montour Home Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA  17815.  www.visneski.com
