Margaret A. "Peggy" Homiak

December 19, 2013

Margaret A. "Peggy" Homiak, 50, of 35 Quaker Meeting House Road Catawissa, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous five year battle with lung cancer on Thursday morning, December 19, 2013 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville, PA.  She was born March 19, 1963 in Nanticoke, PA the daughter of Ralph and Shirley Hontz Good of Forks, PA.   

Peggy graduated from Benton High School in 1981 and graduated with a B.S.N. from Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1984.  She was employed as a Registered Nurse by Geisinger Health System. Recently, she had also been employed by Geisinger Health Plan as a Regional Quality Improvement Nurse.  

She was a member of Community Alliance Church of Bloomsburg, PA.  She loved to sing and read.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.   

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 29 years, Raymond J. Homiak.  They were married October 6, 1984.  She is also survived by one son, Aaron J. Homiak and his wife, Caitlin of Catawissa, PA and two daughters; Allison R. Crist and her husband, Jarad of Jersey Shore PA and Bethany D. Homiak and her fiancé, Ted E. Heitzman III of Catawissa, PA.  Also surviving is one granddaughter, Amelia A. Crist.  She is also survived by four brothers; Randy Good of Forks, PA; Gary Good of Stillwater, PA; David Good of Honesdale, PA and Brian Good of Benton, PA.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Peggy's Life to be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Community Alliance Church 1142 Ridge Road Bloomsburg, PA with the Reverend Nathan King officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received from 9:00 -10:45 AM.  Memorial contributions may be made to W. Hoover Oncology Fund c/o Geisinger Health System Foundation, 100 N Academy Ave, Danville, PA 17822 M.C. 25-76.
