Earl W. "Moonie" Longenberger

Earl W. "Moonie" Longenberger, 82, of 473 East Main Street Catawissa PA passed away Monday morning, September 30, 2013 at his residence.  He was born May 30, 1931 in Roaring Creek Township, Columbia County PA the son of the late Orie and Carrie Swisher Longenberger. 

He served as a staff sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was employed as a heavy equipment operator in road construction and was also employed by Zeisloft Construction.  Earl was a member of the Catawissa VFW Post 8306 and Catawissa American Legion Post 0541.  He was a founding member of the Catawissa Boat Club.  Earl was an avid outdoorsman. 

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Helen E. Wilt Brown Longenberger whom he married May 16, 1990.  Also surviving is a stepson, Donald R. Brown, Jr. and his wife, Barb of Slabtown PA and a step-daughter, Susan K. Falton of Danville PA.  He is survived by seven step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandson. Also surviving is one sister, Catherine Breech of Catawissa PA.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one step-grandson, Timmy Bensholff. 

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery Catawissa PA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc.  10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
