Allen G. Welliver

September 18, 2013

Allen G. Welliver, 85, of 640 Cameltown Hill Road Danville PA passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his residence.  He was born December 18, 1927 in Danville PA the son of the late Allen and Ethel Hess Welliver. 

He was married for 61 years to Mary F. Welliver who preceded him in death July 17, 2009.  They were married August 14, 1947. 

Allen attended Danville High School.   He was employed for many years as a well driller and was also employed by TRW, Inc. Danville PA from where he retired.  Allen was also a farmer and especially enjoyed raising chickens. 

Allen was a member of Hendrickson Zion United Methodist Church Danville PA and Washies Fire Company.   

He enjoyed taking tender care of his farm and homestead and spending quality time with his neighbors.  Allen's greatest enjoyment was spending time daily with his two great-grandsons; Tyler and Mason.   

He is survived by one son, Larry A. Welliver and his wife Deb of Danville PA and two daughters; Bonnie A. Bond and her husband Phillip of Danville PA and Debra M. Hess and her husband Gary of Danville PA.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Jeffrey Swartz and his wife Elizabeth, Amy and Jessika Welliver and Amanda and Jennifer Hess. He is also survived by  three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two sisters; Bernice and Martha. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Marjorie B. Fisk officiating.  Burial will follow in Hendrickson Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hendrickson Zion United Methodist Church 350 Cameltown Hill Road Danville PA 17821.  www.visneski.com
