Kenneth E. Thrush, 72, of 634 Millertown Road Bloomsburg PA went to be with
his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center
Danville PA surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1939 in
Shippensburg PA the son of the late Samuel L. and Elizabeth Diehl Thrush.
graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1957. He moved to Bloomsburg in
1969 to be a manager for the Farm Family Insurance Company. He later became
an independent agent forming Thrush Insurance Agency. Mr. Thrush was a
member of First Baptist Church of Danville where he served as a Deacon,
Trustee and an usher and he was a member of The Gideons International. He
enjoyed golf, sports and hunting. He loved his family and one of his
greatest joys in life was watching his sons and then his grandchildren
participating in their sports and their activities.
Thrush is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Ann Eberly Thrush whom he
married September 17, 1960. Also surviving are three sons; Bryan Thrush and
his wife Janet of Orlando, Florida; Arlin Thrush and his wife Claudia of
Bloomsburg PA and Keith Thrush and his wife Jamie of Bloomsburg PA. He is
also survived by seven grandchildren; Matthew, Treva, Tanner, Tyson, Lexi,
Cooper and Zachary Thrush.
surviving is one brother, Samuel Thrush of Shippensburg PA and one sister,
Nancy Mellinger of Mount Joy PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers;
Arthur and Donald Thrush and two sisters; Marie Wingert and Pauline
Burkholder. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Monday, May 21,
2012 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA (Off
Route 642 East) with Mr. Thrush’s nephew, the Reverend Lynn Thrush, Reverend
Dr. Harry H. Wonderland and the Reverend Dawes Dunham officiating. Burial
will be held Monday at 2:30 PM at Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA. Friends
will be received Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the church and from
9:45 AM until 10:45 AM on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial
