Jon W. Hittle

March 19, 2012

Jon W. Hittle, 65, of 3 Reservoir Street Danville PA passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.  He was born April 25, 1946 in Bloomsburg PA the son of Oscar W., Jr. “Butch” and Doris J. Dawson Hittle of Danville PA. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 1964.  He served with the United States Air Force as a sergeant during the Vietnam War.  He had been employed as a security guard at TRW in Danville PA.  Jon’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.  Jon was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church Danville PA. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joann L. Hagenbuch Hittle whom he married January 7, 1984.  Also surviving are two daughters; Tami J. Harmon and her husband Rodney of Sunbury PA and Tara J. Lehman and her companion Christopher McLaurin of Sunbury PA.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Amanda, Tara, Lauren, Ghilaan, Michelle, Michael, Joslynn and Jace and five great-grandchildren; Braelin, Khaleal, Eli, Jennaye and Aleesah.  One brother also survives him, Ted W. Hittle and his wife Anne of Danville PA along with one sister, Judy A. Alexander and her husband Ted of Danville PA.  Nieces and nephews also survive him.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church 306 Lombard Avenue Danville PA with the Reverend Ronald S. French officiating assisted by the Reverend Rayvon Hilliard.  Friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the church.  Burial will be private.  Military rites will be accorded by the Montour County Veteran’s Association.
