Betty A. Mong

June 21, 2012

Betty A. Mong, 87, of Danville PA passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA.  She was born September 7, 1924 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Arnwine Mong. 

She graduated from Danville High School.  She was employed as a medical secretary at Danville State Hospital from where she retired.  Betty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church Danville PA.   

Betty was well known by many as a Danville Area High School sports enthusiast. She was a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball fan and an avid bowler.   

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth M. Erlsten.  She is survived by a nephew, Edward J. Erlsten and his wife Muriel of New Cumberland PA and nieces; Beth Evitts and her husband Thomas of Shippensburg PA and Martha Butz and her husband Paul of Orwigsburg PA.  Also surviving are several great-nieces and great-nephews and a great-great niece and great-great nephew.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Ronald S. French officiating assisted by the Reverend Rayvon Hilliard.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 306 Lombard Avenue Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
