Norman E. Krebs

Norman E. Krebs, 87, of 205 Water Street Danville PA went home to be his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Emeritus Assisted Living in Bloomsburg PA.  He was born October 9, 1923 in Shamokin PA the son of the late Jacob and Mary Ellen Rubandall Krebs. 

Norman attended Shamokin schools.  He served in the United States Army during World War II where he received the Bronze Star Medal.

He was employed by Merck and Company Riverside PA for 34 years, retiring in 1985. 

Norman was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville where he served on various committees.  He served faithfully as an usher and warmed everyone with his warm smile and hearty laugh.  Norman also enjoyed teaching Bible Studies. He was a member of the Senior Choir and enjoyed singing duets with his wife Millie.  He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed woodworking.  His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his children and his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred M. “Millie” Moodie Krebs whom he married August 9, 1947.  He is also survived by two sons; Bruce L. Krebs and his wife Susan of Danville PA and Wayne E. Krebs and his wife Beverly of Danville PA.   Also surviving are two grandsons; Dr. Richard Krebs of Seattle, Washington and David Krebs and his wife Stephanie of Ocala, Florida and one granddaughter, Janet Krebs of Danville PA

 and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son, Randy A. Krebs on January 21, 2005 and numerous brothers and sisters. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Northumberland Memorial Park Route 61 Stonington PA with his pastor the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating.  There will be no viewing. Military rites will be accorded by the Montour County Veterans Association. The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
