Elizabeth L. Fetterman, 77

September 15, 2011

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Fetterman, 77, of 65 High Road, Catawissa PA passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville PA.  She was born at home in Mount Pleasant Township Columbia County PA on April 2, 1934 the daughter of the late Frank and Florence Lupole Rainier. 

Mrs. Fetterman graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1952.  Along with her husband, she farmed their farm in Mayberry Township, Montour County. She was a faithful and active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mayberry Township, Danville PA where she served faithfully as treasurer and sexton. Mrs. Fetterman enjoyed farming and gardening.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She was married for 51 years to Marshall Charles Fetterman who preceded her in death on September 27, 2004.  They were married June 20, 1953.

She is survived by three sons; Franklin L. Fetterman and his wife Helen of Clayville NY; Marvin Fetterman and his wife Cheryl of Susquehanna PA and Ricky L. Fetterman and his wife Donna of Milton PA and one daughter, Rose M. Sheaffer and her husband Charles of Pottstown PA.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by five brothers; Donald, Robert, George, David and Joe Rainier and two sisters; Mary Fehnel and Ruth Long.  She was preceded in death by two brothers; Norman “Yogi” and Dale Rainier.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church 29 High Road Mayberry Township, Danville PA with the Reverend Christoph Teille officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.  Friends will be received Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the church and Monday from 9:45 AM until 10:45 at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
