Aymar "Bud" Cutler

Aymar “Bud” Cutler, 85, of 2000 Jay Street Danville PA went home to glory on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  He was born June 30, 1925 in Clifton Springs, NY the son of the late William A. and Violet Aymar Cutler. 

 He graduated from Farmingdale High School in Long Island NY and attended New York University.  He graduated from Hofstra University in Long Island NY with a degree in linguistics.  Mr. Cutler served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a Radio Man in the CBI Theatre from 1943-1946.   

He was employed as a carpenter by the Danville Lumber Company and Philco Ford in Watsontown PA.  He was also employed as a Shop teacher by the Danville Jr. High School.  He was employed by Geisinger Medical Center as a carpenter.  Mr. Cutler served as the Minister of Outreach at First Baptist Church of Danville from where he retired. 

He was an active member of First Baptist Church Danville PA where he served faithfully on the Missions Committee and Deacon Board.  He also served as a Sunday school teacher of the New Life Class. Mr. Cutler served as a missionary to Pakistan from 1974-1978.  His memberships included The American Legion, Danville Elks, Danville Community Players and the Danville Food Bank   He also was a Salvation Army Representative.  He enjoyed being a Laubach Literary Tutor for 16 years and he enjoyed woodworking.  Bud’s greatest joys in life included discipleship and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy E. “Dorrie” Reese Cutler whom he married June 10, 1950.  Also surviving are four sons; Jeffrey A. Cutler and his wife Vera of Mertztown PA, Steven W. Cutler and his wife Susan of Lititz PA, William A. Cutler of Tampa FL and Daniel L. Cutler and his wife Judyanne of New Zealand.  His is also survived by six grandchildren; Casia, Curtis, Lindsey, Brandon, Leah and Maeghan and four great-grandchildren; Elijah, Isaiah, Salem and Makayla.  Also surviving are two sisters; Sandra Havens of Myerstown PA and Vickery Lake of Wellsville PA.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Dickerson F. Cutler in 2011 and one sister, Shirley Combs.  Also surviving are nieces and nephews. 

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bud’s life to be held Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive (Off of Route 642 East) Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating assisted by the pastoral staff of the church.  Burial will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Edgehill Cemetery in West Nanticoke PA.  Friends will be received from 1:45 PM until 3:45 PM at the church. The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or World Venture 1501 W.
