Charles L. Cressman, 93

Charles L. Cressman,  93, of 1380 Statten Avenue Bethlehem PA passed away at the residence of his daughter, Carol L. Chap on Thursday, October 7, 2010.  He was born February 27, 1917 in Fountain Hill, PA the son of the late George M. and Mabel Scheffler Cressman. 

He graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem PA.  He was a machinist employed by Bethlehem Steel as a precision roll grinder. 

Charles was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Bethlehem PA. 

He enjoyed walking every morning with his friends, playing baseball darts and reading.  In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his youth, he was very active in Boy Scouts and in later years was a scout master.

He was married to the late Evelyn M. Neith Cressman who preceded him in death January 22, 1990.   He is survived by one daughter, Carol L. Chap and her husband Arthur D. of 916 Avenue H PO Box 27 Riverside PA 17868.  Also surviving are three granddaughters; Candace, Jennifer and Melissa and seven great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister, Alice Gustfason of Washington State.  He was preceded in death by three sisters; Ruth Etwine ,Viola Crouthemal and Marge Urello.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside service to be held Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:30 AM from Bethlehem Memorial Park 1851 Linden Street Bethlehem PA.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ 81 E.
