Mary W. Krum

Mary W. Krum, 98, of 2112 Bloom Road Danville PA where she has resided since 1936 passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at her residence.  She was born October 7, 1911 in Lebanon PA the daughter of the late R. Boyd and Flora E. Kashner Wolverton. 

She graduated from Danville High School in 1929.  Mary enjoyed being a homemaker.  She assisted her husband in the poultry business at their residences.  She also worked part time as a secretary and bookkeeper.  Mary was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ where she served as a Sunday School teacher and as Financial Secretary for many years.  She enjoyed being involved with the Shiloh Quilters.   

She was married to the late Edward S. Krum for 49 years who preceded her in death on April 3, 1986.   They were married September 26, 1936.  She is survived by two sons; David E. Krum, Sr. and his wife Patricia of Danville and Paul R. Krum and his wife Elaine of Afton NY and one daughter Jane Thackara and her husband William of Danville PA.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.  She is also survived by two brothers; Robert S. Wolverton and Paul R. Wolverton; both of Danville PA.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Edna VanHorn in 2001.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh United Church of Christ 500 Bloom Road Danville PA with the Reverend Mary B. Schmotzer officiating.  Burial will be private in Odd Fellows Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
