Grace E. Geasey

February 18, 2010

Grace E. Geasey, 91, of 43 Meadow Lane Danville PA passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph in Danville PA.  She was born September 3, 1918 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Oscar and Ruth Ricketts Dietz. 

She graduated from Danville High School and also from Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City NY.  Mrs. Geasey was employed by Merck and Company in Riverside PA and later as an occupational therapy aide at Danville State Hospital from where she retired in 1981.  She was a member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville PA where she served as head of the Altar Guild. 

 Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially on vacations to the shore. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, David J. Geasey who passed away September 23, 1990.   

She is survived by one daughter, Linda L. Spotts of Danville PA and two granddaughters; Sharon D. Reidle and her husband Roy and Lori A. Moser; both of Danville PA.  She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; Jacob, Jenna and Madison Moser; Addison, Sawyer and Rory Reidle and Haley Spotts.    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Riley Grace Reidle and one brother, G. Sharpless Dietz.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Requiem Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church Pine St and East Market Danville PA with the Reverend Nancy Shank officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Memorial Episcopal Church 120 E Market Street Danville PA  17821.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
