William J. Snyder

William J. Snyder, 88, of 504 Avenue C Riverside PA died Friday, March 27, 2009 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA.  He was born May 10, 1920 in Danville PA the son of the late William H. and Mary Dawson Snyder.   

He was a lifelong resident of Danville PA.  He was employed as a welder for 40 years at Kennedy Van Saun retiring in 1982.  Mr. Snyder was a lifelong member of Washies Fire Company.   

He enjoyed gardening.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna E. Nogle Snyder whom he married November 4, 1943.  Also surviving is one son; Alfred Snyder and his wife Linda of Bloomsburg PA and one daughter; Jean Delbo and her husband Joseph of Danville PA.

He is also survived by six grandchildren; Janet Souka, Columbus, NJ; June Heeter, Joseph Delbo and Justina Beach; all of Danville PA; Michelle Zucal, Bangor PA and Michael Snyder of Evanston IL.  Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by three brothers; Earl Snyder, Joseph Snyder and Bruce Snyder; all of Danville PA.    Also surviving is one sister; Catherine Kifolo of Danville PA and one sister-in-law, Jane Sees of Danville PA.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 11:30 AM until the  time of service.  Memorial contributions in Mr. Snyder’s memory may be made to Camp Dost Memorial Fund c/o Ronald McDonald House PO Box 300 Danville PA 17821.
