Geraldine S. Faust, 99, formerly of Allied Kear
Apartments Danville, PA where she had resided for over 17 years passed away
Monday, March 9, 2009 at Loyalton of Bloomsburg PA where she had resided
since September of 2008. She was born November 29, 1909 in Danville, PA the
daughter of the late Horace and Mary E. Lewis Mowrer.
She was employed as an attendant at the Danville
State Hospital and during World War II by Kennedy Van Saun Danville, PA
where munitions were manufactured. She also was employed by Danville
Manufacturing and in the Prothonotary Office of Montour County. Mrs. Faust
was also employed as a clerk by the PA Department of Revenue for ten years
retiring in 1974.
She was the oldest living member of the First
Baptist Church of Danville PA. Mrs. Faust enjoyed knitting, crocheting,
doing crossword puzzles and flower gardening. Geraldine especially enjoyed
family get-togethers especially at the holiday seasons.
She is survived by two daughters; Raline E.
Casner and her husband Robert of Danville PA and Vickie A. Hammell of Brick,
NJ. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Kathleen Klees and her husband
Michael of Riverside PA; Robert Hammell and Eric Hammell; both of Brick,
NJ. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; Ashley Bennett and her
husband Eric; Alyson, Evan, Aimee and Ethan Klees and Jacqueline Hammell.
She is also survived by two step-sons; Fred Faust and his wife Joanne of
Riverside PA and Terry Faust and his wife Sandra of Danville PA. Also
surviving are three step-grandchildren; Janae Krum, Rona Hummel and
Christopher Faust. Also surviving are several step-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters; Phyllis Michener of Philadelphia, PA
and Mary Emma Laubaugh and her husband Ralph of Northumberland PA. She was
preceded in death by one sister; Marguerite Shaffer and two brothers; John
and Chester Mowrer. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend
funeral services to be held at Friday, March 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM at First
Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA. Burial will follow in The
Reformed Cemetery Danville PA. Friends will be received from 11:30 until
12:45 PM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist
Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski
Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.
