Ruth L. Fiedler

December 19, 2009

Ruth L. Fiedler, 94, of 30 Reader Road Danville PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, December 18, 2009 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA where she had been a guest since 2005.  She was born July 20, 1915 in Dalton PA the daughter of the late Willis and Verna Millard Keene. 

She was a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Bible Philadelphia PA.  Mrs. Fiedler served as a missionary in Marshall North Carolina and as an orphanage worker in Kentucky alongside her late husband.  She was a member of the former Danville Christian Missionary Alliance Church.  Ruth loved playing the piano. Her greatest enjoyment was spending her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

She was married for 54 years to the late William C. “Bill” Fiedler who passed away October 8, 1992.  She is survived by three sons; David Fiedler and his wife Annette of New Columbia PA, Charles Fiedler and his wife Ruth of Sunbury PA and Don Fiedler and his wife Joanne of Perkiomenville PA and two daughters; Thelma Jones and her husband Ken of Danville PA and Ruth Sigafoos and her husband David of Lambertville PA.  She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.  Also surviving are two brothers; Robert Keene of Tennessee and Jimmy Keene of Arizona and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers; David and Donald Keene.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM from First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA with the Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating.  Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
