Marlin E. "Daisy" Dewalt

Marlin E. ďDaisyĒ Dewalt , 70, of 407 Avenue F Riverside PA died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his residence which was his family homestead.  He was born June 20, 1939 in Danville PA the son of the late Frederick S. and Dorothy L. Welliver Dewalt. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 195≠≠7.  Mr. Dewalt was employed from 1959 as a chemical operator by Merck and Co., Inc. from where he retired.  He was a self-employed grocer operating the Dewalt Grocery Store in Riverside PA from 1964 until 1977.  

Mr. Dewalt was a member of St. Peterís United Methodist Church in Riverside PA and a lifetime member of Southside Fire Company in Riverside PA and the Riverside Fire Police.  He was also a lifetime member of the Danville Elks and the Danville Moose.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Tombs Run Hunting Camp and the Susquehanna Sportsmen Association.  He enjoyed playing cards.  He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and fast pitch softball.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren.   

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Patricia A. Kase Dewalt whom he married February 16, 1961.  Also surviving is one son, Tyler E. Dewalt and his wife Melinda of Danville PA and two daughters; Lynn A. Hunter and her husband Richard of Danville PA and Kelly J. Brown and her husband Dennis of Riverside PA.  Also surviving are six grandchildren; Michael and Britta Hunter; Garrett and Austin Brown and Breanna and Jared Dewalt.  He is also survived by four sisters including his twin sisters; Adelene Stoddard of Sunbury PA and Arlene Ferguson of Coventry CT and Elsie Kimbel of Danville PA and Carol Wyland of South Williamsport PA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers; John, Donald and Kenneth Dewalt.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM from St. Peterís United Methodist Church 240 Sunbury Road Riverside PA with the Reverend Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating.  Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA.  Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Peterís United Methodist Church PO Box 428 Riverside PA 17868 or North Montour County Sportsmen Association 74 Sportsmanís Road Turbotville PA 17772.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
