Kathleen L. "Kay" Ammerman

Kathleen L. “Kay” Ammerman, 82, of 50 First Street Apt. 403 Danville PA died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was born March 5, 1926 in Lock Haven, PA the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Leotta M. Herman Litz.   

She graduated from Danville High School in 1944 and from Empire Beauty School in Williamsport, PA.  Kay was a beautician for over 50 years.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she deeply loved.   She was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ.   She was active with SOC, a women’s group at the church.  Kay was faithful in attending lunch with her classmates every two months and was especially looking forward to her 65th Class Reunion.  She was a member of the Danville Moose and Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion.   

She is survived by two sons; John L. Ammerman of Columbia, PA and Jeffrey A. Ammerman of Harrisburg, PA and one daughter, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Kashner and her husband Harry of Danville, PA.  Also surviving are six grandchildren: Wendy Kay Jackson, Harry Kashner, Christa Keefer, Julie Moskovich, Ryan Ammerman and Kyle Ammerman.  She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Will, Maggie, Sydney, Tyler, Travis, Luke, Courtney and Matthew.  She is also survived by one brother, Lewis Litz  and his wife Sue of Montoursville, PA and two sisters: Miriam Wolverton and her husband Paul of Danville PA and Mary Lou Welliver of Danville, PA.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Litz and one sister, Jean Litz.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services Monday, February 16, 2009 at 3:00 PM from Shiloh United Church of Christ 500 Bloom Street Danville PA with the Reverend David R. Schnaars officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Church of Christ Bus Fund.
