Donald A. Auker

Donald A. Auker, 77, of Riverside PA died Monday, October 12, 2009 at his residence.  He was born August 5, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre PA the son of the late Charles H. and Edith M. Leiter Auker. 

He graduated from Myers High School in Wilkes-Barre PA in 1951.  He graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute with a degree in electronics.  Mr. Auker served as an electronic technician in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He retired from the Federal Aviation Agency as an electronic technician.   

Mr. Auker was a very dedicated member of St. Peterís United Methodist Church in Riverside PA.  He enjoyed gardening, building dollhouses and was an avid Penn State fan. 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra J. Wylie Auker whom he married September 28, 1957.  Also surviving are two sons; William A. Auker and his wife Melissa of Danville PA and Robert D. Auker of Waynesburg PA and one daughter, Karen A. Liedel and her husband Christopher of Shavertown PA.  He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandson.  Also surviving is one brother, Norman Auker of Williamsport PA and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers; Palmer, Charles and Herman Auker and two sisters; Mary Inch and Dorothy Auker. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Peterís United Methodist Church 240 Sunbury Road Riverside PA with his pastor the Reverend Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating.  Burial will be held Friday at 2:00 PM  in the Chapel at the Memorial Shrine Cemetery in West Wyoming PA.  Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peterís United Methodist Church PO Box 428 Riverside PA  17868.  www.visneski.com
