Ruth Credit, 91

September 22, 2008

Ruth Credit, 91, of Allied Kear Apartments, Danville PA went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville PA.  She was born November 17, 1916 in Shirley Massachusetts the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence Hill Maylin. 

During World War II, she was employed as a shoemaker and also as a mechanic  repairing World War II vehicles. Ruth was also a cook at the Danville Elks.  Since 1969 she was employed part-time by the Swank’s Salon and Hair Replacement of Danville PA.  Ruth’s greatest joy came from helping people.  She served faithfully as a  volunteer with the Danville Community Christmas Tree Program for 15 years.

Ruth was married to the late Harold Camley and to the late Edward H. Credit .She is survived by one son; William Camley of Maynard, MA and two daughters; Virginia Aucoin and her husband John of Marshfield, MA and Lillian M. Whitmore and her husband Dwight of Swanzey, New Hampshire.  She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Also surviving are Red and Bernie Swank, her devoted friends.

She was preceded in death by one son Roy Camley and several grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were three brothers; Earl, Laurence and Clayton Maylin and one sister Doris Knowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Ruth’s Life on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA. Friends will be received from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Officiating will be Reverend Calvin R. Beveridge, pastor emeritus and Reverend David J. Mouw, associate pastor of First Baptist Church Danville PA.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to Columbia-Montour Home Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA 17815.
