Clayton A. Shepperson, 53

December 6, 2008

Clayton A. Shepperson, 53, of 100 Hagenbuch Loop, Danville PA died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville PA.  He was born July 1, 1955 in Danville PA the son of Walter Shepperson Danville PA and the late Lidia Hummer Shepperson. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 1973.  Clayton served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was employed as a certified welder for over 25 years at ACF Industries in Milton PA.   He was a member of the River of Life Assembly of God in Sunbury PA where he served as a Deacon and a Trustee. Clayton loved the Lord with ALL of his heart.  He occasionally volunteered at Grandview Nursing Home  Danville PA preaching the Word of God.  Claytonís hobbies included hunting and raising chickens.  He was a person who loved Godís creation.  His greatest enjoyment and delight was spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife Debbie Sue Taylor Shepperson.  Also surviving are two sons; Jeremiah Shepperson and his wife Bonnie of Mountville PA and Shane Shepperson who is currently serving in the United States Air Force stationed in Germany and two daughters; Jenny Summers and her husband Todd of Mingoville PA and Kimberly Baar and her husband Steve of St. Paul, Minnesota.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren. 

Also surviving are one brother Daniel Shepperson and his wife Amy of Catawissa PA and five sisters; Janet Hummer and her husband Jay of Danville PA; Lidgia Zimmerman and her husband Fred of Danville PA;  Angie Shepperson of Danville PA ; Shirley Hawley and her husband Don of Danville PA and Ruth Shepperson of Danville PA.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.  He was preceded in death by one brother Floyd Shepperson  and by one sister Theresa Shepperson in infancy. 

A  Celebration of Claytonís Life will be held Wednesday December 10 2008 at 6:30 PM from the River of Life Assembly of God 701 S. 2nd Street Sunbury PA with his pastor the Reverend Kerry Bingaman officiating.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  There will be a time of viewing and paying final respects at the conclusion of the service.  Military rites will be accorded by local Veteranís groups.  Memorial contributions may be made to River of Life Assembly of God.
