M. Black, 76. of 311 Honeymoon Street Danville PA died Thursday, April 3
2008 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. She was born August 20 1931
in Milton PA the daughter of the late William and Sallie Trate Weigold.
graduated from Milton High School in 1949. She was employed by the Danville
Area School District as an elementary school secretary retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Black was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville PA. She enjoyed
scrapbooking, embroidery, playing Bingo and having lunch with her friends.
survived by her husband of 57 years, Sterling P. Black, whom she married
December 3 1950. Also surviving is one son Thomas H. Black and his wife
Jody of Danville PA and five daughters; Carol Westwood and her husband
Timothy of Pittsburgh PA; Lois Baylor and her husband Robby of Danville PA;
Kathy Diehl and her husband Dave of Washingtonville PA; Sherry Black of New
Jersey and Chris Rossnock of Bloomsburg PA. Also surviving are eleven
grandchildren; Todd Summers and his wife Jenny; Jay Barnes and his wife
Veronica; Andy Barnes and Alyssa Barillari, Nathan Baylor and his wife
Kristi; Ty Diehl and Kristin Naugle; Kevin Black; Abby Westwood, Emily
Black, Mark Black; Larry Carroll and his wife Annette and Doug Carroll and
his wife Ellen. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; Andrew,
Austin and Araelia Summers and Nicholas, Austin and Megan Carroll. Also
surviving is one brother; William Weigold of Watsontown PA and two sisters;
Carrie Bastian of Milton PA and Betty Runkle of Milton PA. She was preceded
in death by two brothers; Walter and Franklin Weigold and one sister Sallie
Yohn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Monday April 7
2008 at 1:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church 215 E Market Street Danville PA
with her pastor the Reverend Michael A. Greenauer officiating. Burial will
follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA. Friends will be received from
11:30 AM until the time of service in the chapel of the church. Memorial
contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are
