(Campbell) Woodruff, 87, of 316 Sharp Ridge Road Danville PA went to be with
the Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her
loved ones and caregivers from Americare Home Care Services. She lived on a
farm all of her life and at her present residence since 1945. She was born
October 23 1920 in Rush Township Northumberland County Pennsylvania, the
daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mary Olive Cooke Campbell.
married the love of her life Lee Woodruff on April 12 1941 at Rushtown
Methodist Church. She attended the Center, a one room school, for eight
years and graduated from Danville High School Class of 1939. She actively
served as class secretary from 1960 to 2007, organizing class reunions,
sending newsletters and collecting for the Memorial Book Fund. Alice was a
member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church Mayberry Township Montour County. She
was an active member of the Adult Sunday School Class, Ladies Aide, Christie
Circle and taught Sunday school for many years.
served on the Montour County Extension Board for several terms, 4H
Development and was a 4H Community Leader for 10 years. Alice was a former
committee person for the Republican Party of Montour County. She enjoyed
crocheting, scrapbooking, reading, doing word find puzzles, playing games
and playing the piano for her own enjoyment. She especially liked game
night at the neighborís house.

she was preceded in death by her son Allen Woodruff in 2002 and grandson
Andrew Bird in 1986. She was also preceded in death by three brothers:
Robert, J. Lester and Lorenzo Campbell and two sisters: Dora Rothermel and
Margaret Titley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate

daughter-in-law Mary Woodruff of Catawissa PA and Kaylee. Also survived are
grandchildren: Brian Bird and wife Kellie; Dean Woodruff and wife Debra;
Debra Shuman and husband Richard; Daniel and Susan Dumbauld; Michael
Woodruff and wife Karen; and Kimberly, Tracy and Mark Grose. She is also
survived by great-grandchildren: Jason, Brittany and Trenton Bird; Jason and
Lindsey Showers and her fiancť Steve McAnnaney; Steven and Courtney Shuman
and Kate and Hunter Woodruff.
services will be held Tuesday August 26 2008 at 11:00 AM at St.
Johnís Lutheran Church 29 High Road Mayberry Township Danville PA with the
Reverend Christoph Teille officiating. Friends will be received at the
church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery. The family will provide flowers. Memorial
