Anna M. Phillips, 86, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA where she had been a guest for the past two years.  She had formerly resided at 4 Kaseville Road Danville PA for nearly 60 years.  She was born April 25, 1922 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Morgan J. and Margaret E. Kashner Herman.

 Mrs. Phillips graduated from Danville High School.  She had been previously employed as an aide by Grandview Health Homes, Inc.  She was a member of the former St. John’s United Church of Christ Mausdale PA. 

One of her greatest joys was listening to Christian music on the radio and also enjoyed crocheting.   

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Pershing C. Phillips, Sr. who died August 18, 2003.  They were married March 4, 1946.  She is survived by one son, Pershing C. Phillips, II of Missoula, Montana and one daughter, Anna Mae Fritz and her husband Gary of Danville PA.  Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother Thomas E. Herman of Danville PA and three sisters; Mildred K. Hawk, Ruth V. Krum and Sara L. Crossley; all of Danville PA.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Pershing C. Phillips, III and two brothers; James K. “Jim” Herman and John M. Herman.  One sister, Mary E. Cooke also preceded her in death. 

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Nathan King Community Alliance Church Lightstreet PA.   Burial will be private in Straub’s Lutheran Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of service.  www.visneski.com
