Ruth V. Richardson, 89

December 27, 2007

Ruth V. Richardson, 89, of 206 Maple Street Danville PA died Wednesday evening December 26 2007 at her residence.  She was born September 4 1918 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Charles H. and Nannie C. Johnson Vernon. 

She graduated from Danville High School.  She was employed for many years as a clerk at Bea Butlerís in Danville PA and as an aide in the Home Economics Room at Danville Middle School. 

Mrs. Richardson was a member of First Baptist Church Danville PA where she served as a Sunday school teacher, was a member of the Senior Choir and volunteered her help in Vacation Bible School for many years.  She was the first director of the bell choir at the church.  She enjoyed painting, playing the piano and traveling. 

She was married for 60 years to the late James R. Richardson who preceded her in death March 2 2001.  They were married June 23 1940. 

She is survived by two sons; J. Robert Richardson and his wife Carol of Crozet Virginia and Glenn V. Richardson and his wife Robin of Danville PA.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Matthew and his wife Kelly, Timothy, Jedediah, Dana and Lance.

Mrs. Richardson is also survived by her niece, Dawn Wynings and her husband Richard who resided with her and were her caregivers.  She was preceded in death by one sister Helen Hutchings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Saturday December 29 2007 at 11:00 AM from Springer Chapel of First Baptist Church of Danville PA 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA with the Reverend David J. Mouw, associate pastor officiating assisted by the Reverend Calvin R. Beveridge, pastor emeritus.  Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the Chapel.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Columbia-Montour Home Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA  17815.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA  17821.
