Ralph N. Oberdorf, 76

December 11, 2007

Ralph N. Oberdorf, 76, of 239 West Mahoning Street Danville PA passed away Monday morning, December 10 2007 at his residence.  He was born June 14 1931 in Riverside PA the son of the late Percy V. and Lilly A. Summers Oberdorf. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 1949.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was present when the Peace Treaty was signed. 

He was employed by TRW in Danville PA retiring in 1986.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and feeding black bears.  Mr. Oberdorf had a daily routine to film the progress during the construction of the new Danville-Riverside Bridge and tunnel.  On the day the tunnel was opened, he drove the first truck through it. 

Mr. Oberdorf is survived by one sister Dorothy I. Hackenberg of Danville PA and her family.   He was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles A. Oberdorf in the Korean War in 1950 and Leon V. Oberdorf in 1973. 

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Hospice Memorial Fund 100 N Academy Avenue Danville PA  17822-2411.
