Marian McWilliams Cohen

Marian McWilliams Cohen, of Bradenton Florida, formerly of Riverside Pennsylvania, died peacefully Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Heritage Park in Bradenton Florida.  She was the wife of the late H. Bernard Cohen. 

She was born in Danville Pennsylvania on December 11, 1914, the daughter of Arthur and Emily McWilliams.  She graduated from Danville High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg State College.  Mrs. Cohen taught both first and fourth grade in the Danville Public Schools for many years.  She also spent many hours working with her husband Bernie at Cohen's Men's Store in Danville.  After retiring in 1980, she and her husband moved to Bradenton Florida.  They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2000. 

Marian is survived by her daughter Donna, of Newburyport, Massachusetts, her grandson Chuck Olney and his wife Sarah of Denver Colorado and her granddaughter Betsy Olney of New York City.  She is also survived by her sister Regina Hartzell of Bloomsburg, PA and her brother Paul McWilliams and his wife Eileen of Riverside PA.  She was predeceased by her brothers Arthur McWilliams and Robert McWilliams.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews all of whom were very dear to her heart. 

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Jewish Cemetery in Danville PA with Reverend Robert Andrews of the Grove Presbyterian Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be sent to her granddaughter's new school, Hyde Leadership Charter School, 730 Bryant Avenue, Bronx, NY 10474 or a favorite children's charity.
