Margaret McCoy Garman, 89

Margaret McCoy Garman, 89, a lifelong Danville area resident until April of this year peacefully returned to her heavenly home early Wednesday morning, July 25, 2007 from Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart Pennsylvania.  She was born April 30, 1918 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Benjamin Rumbach and Katherine Weigold McCoy. 

Mrs. Garman graduated from Danville Area High School.  She was employed for many years in retail clothing sales for Keeferís Department Store, later named Danks and Company and also employed by Sarah Pentz.  She was employed lastly by the Danville Area School District retiring in 1983.

She was a member of St. Paulís (Straubís) Lutheran Church Danville PA where she served as a volunteer with numerous church functions.  She had also been a member of the Danville Elks Auxiliary.  Mrs. Garmanís passion was caring for her home, family and her neighbors.

She was married for 59 years to George P. Garman who preceded her in death September 23 1998.  She is survived by one son G. Richard Garman and his wife Maribeth of Mountaintop PA and two grandchildren; Karen Garman of Sayre PA and Matthew Garman of Chatham NJ.  Also surviving are two great-grandchildren Olivia McCoy Garman and Harrison Gallagher Garman of Chatham NJ.  In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother Arthur McCoy.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM from St. Paulís (Straubís) Lutheran Church 60 Frosty Valley Road Danville PA with her pastor the Reverend Thomas E. Light, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends and family will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paulís (Straubís) Lutheran Church 60 Frosty Valley Road Danville PA 17821 or Wayne Memorial Health Foundation 601 Park Street Honesdale PA  18431. Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA
