Joseph F. Izzo, 58

August 13, 2007

Joseph F. Izzo, 58, of 65 Eister Loop Danville PA died Sunday afternoon August 12 2007 at his residence.  He was born November 13 1948 in Wilkes- Barre PA the son of the late Ralph and Catherine Bolish Izzo. 

He graduated from Crestwood High School Mountaintop PA in 1966.  He enlisted in The United States Navy serving first in Vietnam and then multiple duty stations on the East Coast rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of active duty.  He was employed by Kellogg’s in Muncy PA as a maintenance mechanic. 

Mr. Izzo was a member of the Laurel Lodge #467 F&AM White Haven PA where he served as Past Master.  He was also a life member of The American Legion, VFW and The National Rifle Association.  Mr. Izzo was an avid woodworker. 

He is survived by his wife Mary L. Hamman Izzo whom he married January 2000.  He is also survived by two sons; Billy Izzo and his wife Brianne of Somerset NJ and Bobby Izzo of Wilkes-Barre PA.  His extended family includes his son Kevin Alexander and his wife Jen of Sunbury PA and two daughters; Angela Carl and her husband Brian of Sunbury RD3 and Christy Dunbar and her husband Corey of Macungie PA.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters; Denise Parish of Nanticoke PA and Charlotte Tankle and her husband Mike of Philadelphia PA.  He was preceded in death by one sister Karen Drury. 

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday August 23 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating assisted by the Reverend David J. Mouw First Baptist Church Danville PA.  Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until time of service.  A Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 9:30 AM.  Military rites will be accorded by the Montour County Veterans Association.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Laurel Lodge #467 F&AM  c/o Benjamin Stark 430 Pond Creek Road White Haven PA 18661.
