Burton M. Bane, 76

Burton M. Bane, 76, of 302 Kingsley Avenue Danville PA died unexpectedly at his home on November 22, 2007.  He was born April 19 1931 in Centerville PA the son of the late John and Bertha Dwyer Bane, Sr.

He retired as a teacher from Northwestern Area Jr./Sr. High School .  He served in the United States Air Force in Korea during the Korean War and was stationed at the Benton Radar Station.  Burt enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his loved ones.  He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Burt is survived by his wife Dorothy Bane.  Also surviving is his daughter, Cindy Lu Bailey Spangler and son-in-law Donald of Lewistown PA as well as a grandson, Ryan Bailey who resides in Petersburg WV.  He is also survived by a stepson, Brett McIndoe and two step-daughters, Alison McIndoe and Monica Root and her husband Frank. 

Also surviving are five grandchildren; Chris, Niki, Gracie and Micah Root of Danville PA and Cole Figueroa of Lancaster PA.  Also surviving are two brothers; John Bane, Jr. of Sacramento CA and Bernard Bane of Carmichael CA.  Burt was preceded in death by his previous wife, Iva Mae Wenner and one daughter Kenith Bane.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held on Monday, November 26 2007 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Robert J. Andrews Grove Presbyterian Church Danville PA officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received Sunday evening from 6:00 7:30 PM and also from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Area Community Center PO Box 125 Danville PA  17821.
