Beatrice R. Kline, 93

Beatrice R. Kline, 93, of Vintage Knolls, died at 4:15 PM Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Grandview Nursing Home, Danville, where she was a patient for one day. 

Born on September 5, 1914, in Fearnot, she was the daughter of the late Monroe N. and Regina (Wagner) Shade.  She was reared by her Uncle Obed and Aunt Ella Wagner near Dutch Hill.

She was educated in Jerseytown-Millville School District and graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1933. 

Mrs. Kline was employed by the Danville State Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for 23 years and retired in 1975.  After retirement she remained in the Danville area until moving to the Vintage Knolls assisted living facility one and a half years ago.

She was a longtime member of St. James United Church of Christ of Ridgeville, where she was an active member of the choir.

She was also an active member of the Danville Women of the Moose for more than 50 years, where she received the degree of Senior Regent.  She was a member of the Valley Grange Danville PA where she enjoyed socializing and card playing.  She was also a member of the Danville American Legion Auxiliary.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Kline and former husband, Gerald M. VonBlohn; one granddaughter, Lisa VonBlohn; one grandson, Scott VonBlohn; and one step-daughter, Lois (Kline) Gabriel.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gerald Max, Jr. and Dorothy VonBlohn of Danville PA; David Larry VonBlohn of Grapevine, TX and Dean C. VonBlohn, Sr. and Jane VonBlohn of Danville; three stepchildren; Ruth (Kline) Raup, Thomas Kline, and Esther (Kline) Hettinger, all of Danville PA; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. 

She enjoyed writing poetry, gardening, card playing with friends, the Women of the Moose, and most of all, visiting with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A private interment with family will take place in Columbia Hill Cemetery on September 29.  A memorial service for family and friends will take place at 1:00 PM Saturday at St. James United Church of Christ, Ridgeville, 2507 Bloom Road Danville PA .  Her pastor, the Reverend Richard J. Shearer will officiate.  Visitation with the family will take place immediately following the service in the social hall of the church.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. James United Church of Christ Building Fund 2507 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821.
