Ann B. Curtis, 88,
of 11 Trinity Terrace, Danville, PA, died Friday morning, September 21, 2007
at the Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph, Danville PA.
She was born
September 28, 1918, in Minerís Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, PA the
daughter of the late Andrew R. Sr. and Mary Semanski Brazelle.
She graduated in
1937 from the Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre PA, and also from the
Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
Ann served as a
flight nurse with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. After
discharge, she was employed as a registered nurse by the Prince Georges
Hospital, Landover, MD, where she met her husband of 59 years, James L.
She was a member
of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Danville. An avid golfer, she was also a
member of the Frosty Valley Country Club, Danville PA. She enjoyed reading,
playing bridge and being a gourmet chef.
In addition to her
husband, she is survived by one daughter, Susan Jane Curtis Jeedas, of
Madison, Wis.; and a granddaughter, Leah Jeedas of Madison, Wis; a sister,
Frances J. Brazelle of Hershey PA; and four nephews.
She was preceded
in death by two brothers; Andrew R. Brazelle, Jr.; and Vincent T. Brazelle;
and one sister, Mary Brazelle.
A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 28 2007 from St.
Joseph Roman Catholic Church 18 E Center Street Danville PA at 12:30 PM with
the Reverend William M. Weary officiating. Burial will be private. The
family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel
Nursing Center at Maria Joseph 600 Schoolhouse Road Danville PA 17821.
