Resendorph, 88, of 40 Cherokee Road Danville PA died Tuesday December 4 2007
at Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville PA. He had formerly
resided at 316 Loller Road Hatboro PA, moving to Danville PA in 1991. He
was born December 29 1918 in Philadelphia PA the son of the late Eldridge
and Bertha Walker Resendorph.
graduated from Hatboro High School in 1936 and from Rutgers University
Graduate School of Banking in 1952. Mr. Resendorph served as a corporal in
the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired banker and had
been employed by Philadelphia National Bank for 16 years and by Liberty
Federal Savings and Loan of Germantown and Philadelphia for 24 years.
Resendorph was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville where he was a
member of the Adult Fellowship Class and the ARMS group. He was a former
member of Faith Community Church Roslyn PA where he served as an elder and
along with his wife they served as advisors to the College and Career
group. Mr. Resendorph was also a member of the Christian Businessmen’s
Association. He and his wife Peg were both 1,000 hour volunteers at
Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. An avid gardener, one of his greatest
enjoyments was landscaping and maintaining the grounds at his home and those
of his friends.
married for 61 years to the late Marguerite “Peg” Johnson Resendorph who
preceded him in death October 29 2007. They were married on May 15 1946.
His final years were spent caring for his beloved wife.
survived by two daughters; Lynn A. Wonderland and her husband the Reverend
Dr. Harry H. of Danville PA and Holly K. Babrick and her husband the
Reverend Kenneth E. of Wellington FL. Also surviving are seven
grandchildren; Jana and her husband Eddie; Derek and his wife Katie; Peter,
Tim, Joe, Priscilla and Mark. He is also survived by three
great-granddaughters; Jalyn, Elana and Alexa. Also surviving is one brother
Albert Resendorph of Northeast Philadelphia PA and one sister Mildred Lemal
of Abington PA. He was preceded in death by one sister Helen Jones of
A Celebration of his
life will be held Friday December 7 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church 20
Brookside Drive Danville PA with his sons-in-law the Reverend Dr. Harry H.
Wonderland and the Reverend Kenneth E. Babrick officiating assisted by the
Reverend David J. Mouw. Burial will be private. Friends will be received
from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. The family will
provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to either The Mortgage
Reduction Fund or Youth Ministries Fund of First Baptist Church 20 Brookside
Drive Danville PA 17821. Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski
