Alan R. Myers, 50

Alan R. Myers, 50, of   5 Dogwood Lane Danville PA died Saturday, June 16 2007 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  He was born April 17, 1957 in Huntingdon PA the son of Edward G. and Mary J. Montgomery Myers of Petersburg PA. 

He graduated from Juniata Valley High School in 1975 and Northern Virginia Community College in 1986 with an Associateís Degree in HVAC.

Mr. Myers served in the United States Air Force in telecommunications as a cable splicer.  He was employed by Geisinger Medical Center in HVAC in the Facilities Department for the past 15 years.  He previously was employed by Dent Plumbing and Heating Lightstreet PA.  He was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Myers was a devoted husband and father.  His greatest passion was spending time with his sons which included coaching Little League, T-Railers, and coaching basketball at the Junior High level and at the Danville Area Community Center.  He also enjoyed landscaping, gardening and loved to hunt. 

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Donna L. McCullough Myers whom he married September 8 1984.  Also surviving are two sons; Mathew A. and Stephen H.; both at home.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Lou Streett McCullough of New Galilee PA and was preceded in death by his father-in-law W. Paul McCullough.  Also surviving are four sister-in-laws; Cindy Keith and husband John of Entriken PA; Marcia Farone and husband Jim of New Galilee PA and Melanie Bauder and husband Robert of New Galilee PA and Janet Wallace and husband Clifford of Enon Valley PA.  He is also survived by two uncles; John Myers and Terry Cummins and his wife Judy and two aunts; Jerry Ruppert and Patty Walker and husband Hayden as well as several cousins. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Jodi, Stacie and Andy Keith; Paul, Denise and Carl Farone; Heather, Bobbie Jo and Leah Bauder and Lyndsay and Craig Wallace. 

A Witness of the Resurrection of Alanís Life will be held Saturday, June 23 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Grove Presbyterian Church 330 Bloom Street Danville PA with his pastor the Reverend Dr. Robert J. Andrews officiating.  Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of the church at the convenience of the family.  Friends will be received from 9:30 until 10:50 AM in the Great Room at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to either Alan R. Myers Scholarship Fund c/o Service First Credit Union 1207 Bloom Street Danville PA or Grove Presbyterian Church Sr. High Youth Mission Team 330 Bloom Street Danville PA 17821.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.
