Irene M. Garman, 99, of 503 Evergreen Pointe Danville PA died Thursday, June 14 2007 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA.  She was born May 31 1908 in Riverside PA  the daughter of the late Charles and Genevieve Dyer Shepperson. 

Mrs. Garman was employed for many years in the Dietary Department of Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church Danville PA.  Her greatest joy was visiting with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. 

She was married for 71 years to the late Grant Garman on June 8, 1929 who preceded her in death on March 9 2001.

She is survived by one son, Carl J. Garman of Burlington NJ and two daughters; Shirley M. Feaster and son-in-law Francis H. of Riverside PA and Victoria A. “Vicki” Pursel and son-in-law James A. of Riverside PA, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons.  She is also survived by one sister Dorothy Capp of Danville PA.  She was preceded in death by one daughter Dee Reeder and son-in-law Harry Reeder.  She was preceded in death by one grandson and one great-granddaughter.  Two brothers; Charles and William Shepperson also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19 2007 at 12:00 Noon from the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with her pastor the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating.  Burial will follow in Straub’s Lutheran Cemetery Danville PA.    Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to either First Baptist Church Memorial Fund 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA  17821 or Heart to Hand 735 E Front Street Danville PA 17821.
