Lewis V. Wray, Sr., 72

Lewis V. Wray, Sr., 72, of Allentown PA died Friday, January 19 2007 at The Liberty Nursing and Rehab Center in Allentown PA.  He was born October 21, 1934 in Danville PA the son of the late Lewis P. and Veda A. Worthington Wray.

He graduated from Danville High School in 1952 and from Penn State University in 1960 with a degree in Accounting.  Mr. Wray retired in 2000 as a corporate accountant by Allison Shirts of Allentown PA a division of Beatrice Foods and Wright’s Fabrics of Allentown PA.  He served in the United States Navy as an aviation technician 1st Class during the Korean War.

He was a member of Southside Fire Company in Riverside PA. Mr. Wray was a scoutmaster in Newark Delaware for nine years.   He enjoyed traveling, meeting people and following Penn State football.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.  

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mabel J. Weaver Wray whom he married October 14, 1954.  He is also survived by three sons; Lewis V. Wray, Jr. and daughter-in-law Sue of Boston MA; Gary L. Wray and daughter-in-law Joan of Newark Delaware and Douglas M. Wray and daughter-in-law Kimberly of Reading PA and one daughter Yvonne Beck and son-in-law Gary of Allentown PA. Also surviving are five grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother Gideon J. Wray of Danville PA and one sister Dorothy A Gardner of Holcomb NY.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 24 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend J. Douglas Hallman Stonington Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Stonington PA.  Friends will be received from 11:30 AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association 1019 Mumma Road Wormleysburg PA  17041.
