Helen Steck, 91,
of 629 Logan Run Road Danville PA died Saturday evening, December 2, 2006 at
her residence. She was born April 1, 1915 in Natalie PA the daughter of the
late John and Mary Federeskie Steck.
She graduated from
Locust Gap High School in 1934. Helen was a member of Christ Memorial
Episcopal Church Danville PA. She was employed at the Elysburg Silk
Mill.She was also employed by Rheems Manufacturing in Danville PA during
World War II. She was a waitress at Vincent’s Restaurant on Rt 54 Rush
Township PA where she retired in 1985. Helen enjoyed cooking and baking.
She was the last member of her immediate
family and was preceded in death by one brother John Steck and three
sisters; Mary Kodack, Anna Deskie and Elizabeth Sunder.
She is survived by two nieces Theresa and
Helen Deskie with whom she resided and another niece Marcia Oliviri of
Boynton Beach FL and one nephew Edward Deskie of Boyertown PA.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday,
December 9 2006 at 11:00 AM from Christ Memorial Episcopal Church East
Market and Pine Streets Danville PA with her pastor the Reverend Frank A.
Edmands officiating. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery Bear Gap
PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 – 10:45 in the Community Room of the
church. The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be
made to either Christ Memorial Episcopal Church PO Box 363 Danville PA or
the Danville SPCA 2801 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821. Arrangements are
