Harriette M. Krauss, 83

May 20, 2006

Harriette M. Krauss, 83, of Danville PA died Thursday morning, May 18, 2006 at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville PA.  She was born January 26, 1923 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Howard C. and Rella Adams MacLane. 

She graduated from Danville High School in 1940.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville where she served as secretary and treasurer.  Mrs. Krauss was fondly known as “Muzzy” by many of the youth of the church while she actively served in nursery, teaching First Grade Sunday School and her involvement with the “King’s Kids”.   Mrs. Krauss served on the board of the Thomas Beaver Free Library for four years and served on the Danville Bicentennial Committee.  She was very fond of animals. 

She was married to the late Robert L. Krauss who preceded her in death July 11, 1985.  She is also survived by one son Robert L. “Rob” Krauss and daughter-in-law Virginia of Berkley, Michigan.  She is also survived by two granddaughters; Mrs. Matthew (Kimberly L.) Weaver and Katherine L. Krauss. Also surviving is one niece Ann Forrester of Jacksonville FL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother James E. MacLane in March 1992 and one sister Mary Alice Adams in February 2005.   

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 11:00 AM from First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA with her pastor the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating assisted by the Reverend David J. Mouw.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM at Visneski Funeral Home 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Memorial Fund Maria Drive Danville PA or First Baptist Church Missions Fund 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA 17821.
