C. Boyd Nuss, 77

C. Boyd Nuss, 77, of 3735 Point Township Drive Northumberland PA died Saturday morning, March 25, 2006 at Geisinger Medical Center Emergency Room Danville PA.  He was born August 15, 1928 in Riverside PA the son of the late John E. and Isabelle Snyder Nuss.

He graduated from Danville High School in 1946.  He served in the United States Navy from 1944 – 1958 on the submarines USS Flying Fish, USS Raton and the USS Dolphin.  He was employed for 40 years by Otto’s Auto Supply in Danville PA and for Glen-Gery Brick Watsontown PA for 33 years.  He was employed by Butterkrust in Sunbury for two years.  He was also employed by the Holiday Inn in Shamokin Dam PA for 14 years.  After his retirement he was employed part time by the International Garage, Point Township PA until his health declined. 

Mr. Nuss was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sunbury PA.  He was a life member of the Danville Moose Lodge #1133, Point Township Fire Company Northumberland PA, Rescue Hose Company Sunbury PA, Southside Fire Company Riverside PA.  He was a social member for 32 years of the American Legion Post 44 Northumberland PA.  He enjoyed tinkering about his home, being with his family and friends, basketball, football and the Atlanta Braves.  Mr. Nuss also enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Lou Dockey Nuss whom he married July 3, 1954 and two daughters; Toni Lee Herman and son-in-law Marshall of Sunbury PA and Kelly Jo Webb of Point Township PA.  Also surviving is one grandson Curtis Yohey, Jr. and fiancé Jennifer Griffin of Catawissa PA.  Many nieces and nephews also survive him.  He was preceded in death by two brothers; S. Arthur Nuss and John “Bud” Nuss and three sisters; Lucretia Herr, Harriet Karpinski and Elizabeth Nuss and twin siblings in infancy. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with his pastor the Reverend Adrian J. Shearer officiating.  Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Stonington PA.  Friends will be received Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM and from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Ministries 1043 South Front Street Sunbury PA 17801 or The Salvation Army c/o Majors James & Sandy Spoul  40 S. 4th Street Sunbury PA  17801.
