Annabelle F. Sober, 96

Annabelle F. Sober, 96, formerly of 750 E Market Street Danville PA died Sunday morning July 16 2006 at Maria Joseph Manor Danville PA where she had been a guest since February 2002.  She was born in Danville PA the daughter of the late Harry B. and Blanche Shade Sober.  

Miss Sober graduated from Danville High School in 1929 where she was active in dramatics.  She graduated as a registered nurse from the Geisinger School of Nursing in 1932.  She was employed for 42 years as a night supervisor of nurses at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA where she retired. 

Miss Sober was a member of Mahoning Presbyterian Church where she served on the Ladies Auxiliary.  Miss Sober was active in the Geisinger Alumni Association and a member of Geisinger Medical Center Auxiliary.  She participated in local philanthropic activities and was a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and for the Children’s Miracle Network.  Miss Sober was also a member of the Montour Historical Society.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, knitting and letter writing. 

She is survived by a brother Charles T. Sober of Lewisburg, PA; a nephew, Charles T. Sober, Jr. of Tampa, FL; a niece, Susan Brown of Des Moines, Iowa; grandnephews and grandnieces; David, Melissa and Tommy Brown and Richard and Michael Sober; and great-grandnieces, Catheryn Lynn Sober and Grace Brown.  She was preceded in death two sisters, Margaret Sober and Martha Sober Davis and a brother Marion Sober. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 10:30 AM from Mahoning Presbyterian Church 218 Ferry Street Danville PA along with a Memorial Service for her sister, Martha Sober Davis who died June 23, 2006.  Their pastor, the Reverend Judson S. Bennett will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.
