Louise I. Harder, 85

 Louise I. Harder, 85, formerly of 310 W Mahoning Street Danville PA where she had resided until 1997 until moving to 206 Jade Avenue Danville PA died Sunday afternoon, May 14 2006 at Emmanuel Center at Maria Joseph Manor Danville PA.  She was born August 14, 1920 in Bloomsburg PA the daughter of the late Ruth Frederick Gottshall. 

She graduated from Catawissa High School in 1938. She was a member of the Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church Danville PA where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Harder was employed for 37 years as a clerk by three Mill Street businesses the first being JJ Newberry and then WT Grant and finally Beiter’s Danville PA where she retired in September 1990.

She adored her family and spending time with them.  She also was an avid reader and enjoyed doing Bible research.   

Mrs. Harder was married for 39 years to the late Charles R. Harder who preceded her in death May 15, 1980.  She is survived by one daughter Judith A. Rogowsky of Danville PA and two granddaughters Mrs. Scott (Stefanie) Oberdorf and Beth A. Rogowsky, both of Danville PA and one great-granddaughter, Madison Louise Oberdorf. Also surviving is one sister Betty Weatherhog of Bloomsburg PA.  She is also survived by a very special child in her life Chloe Phibbs of Danville PA.   In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son Kevin C. Harder March 31, 1996 and one brother Sterling “Junior” Gottshall who died January 1991. 

Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Visneski Funeral Home 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA with her pastor the Reverend L. Keith Pittsnogle officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery Catawissa PA.

Friends will be received from 1:00 until the time of service.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church 407 Pine Street Danville PA 17821.  www.visneski.com
