William F. “Bill” Toohey, Sr., 80

William F. “Bill” Toohey, Sr., 80, of 396 South State Street Millville, PA died Sunday afternoon, September 4, 2005 at the Millville Health Center Millville, PA.  He was born March 28, 1925 in Peekskill, NY the son of the late James and Marguerite McCormick Toohey. 

He was a local and long distance truck driver for various trucking companies.  Mr. Toohey was a  Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a member of First Baptist Church Danville, PA where he  was known for his friendly and outgoing personality serving as a faithful usher.  Mr. Toohey enjoyed writing poetry. 

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Lockwood Toohey whom he married April 30, 1957 and one son William F. Toohey, Jr. at home.  He is also survived by five daughters; Joann Sanchez of New York City, NY;  Naomi Vogel of Vermont; Patricia Sampson of Gaylordsville, CT; Susan E. Toohey of Hughesville, PA and Faith M. Dunkleberger of Florida.  He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Charity J. Toohey in 1986 and one great-grandson.  Also preceding him in death were three brothers and two sisters. 

Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 8th at 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Valley Township, Danville, PA with his pastors the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland and Reverend David J. Mouw officiating.  Burial will be Friday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA.  Friends will be received from 6-7 PM at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville, PA  17821.
