Raymond A. Carey, 63

June 27, 2005

Raymond A. Carey, 63, of 1875 Beaver Run Road Lewisburg, PA where he had resided since October 2003 died Friday morning, June 24, 2005 at Evangelical Community Hospital Lewisburg, PA and formerly of Santa Rosa, California. 

He was born July 4, 1941 in Susquehanna County Pennsylvania the son of the late Delbert and Arlene Bennett Carey.  He graduated from Danville High School in 1960 and the University of Kentucky with a Bachelorís degree in Accounting and received his MBA from Pepperdine University. 

Mr. Carey was retired as a federal bankruptcy trustee in Santa Rosa, California.  He enjoyed investing and real estate.  One of his favorite passions was eating ice cream.  Mr. Carey attended Sunbury Bible Church Northumberland, PA.  He is survived by four nephews; Kyle Carey and his wife Ruth with whom he resided in Lewisburg, PA; Karl Carey and his wife Stephanie RD#2 Selinsgrove, PA and Kemuel Carey and his wife Tery of Binghamton, NY and Kurt Carey of Selinsgrove, PA and one niece, Karen Leahy and her husband Jerry of Dillsburg, PA. He is also survived by seven great-nephews and one great-niece. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Mary Carey of Selinsgrove, PA, one Aunt Juanita Bennett of Dunedin, Florida and many cousins and friends.   He was preceded in death by three brothers; Ronald Carey in infancy, Eric Carey and Lee Carey. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 28, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Sunbury Bible Church RT 11 Northumberland, PA with the Reverend James B. Gross officiating.  Burial will be at 3:00 PM at the South Harford Cemetery in Harford Township Susquehanna County Pennsylvania.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be  made to The American Diabetes Association PO Box 2680 North Canton, OH  44720.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA.
