Phyllis A. Betts, 88, of 425 Fifth Street Riverside, PA died Monday morning, July 18, 2005 at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville, PA.  She was born December 30, 1916 in Williamsport, PA the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Elizabeth Raisbeck Procter Maurer. 

She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1934.  Mrs. Betts was a member of St. Peterís United Methodist Church Riverside, PA where she served with the United Methodist Women.  Alongside her husband, she was a co-owner of Bird Florist Riverside, PA until 1975.  She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed baking and cooking.  One of her greatest joys was to prepare lunch daily for her family. 

She was married for 58 years to the late Earl L. Betts who preceded her in death July 28, 1995.  She is survived by two sons; Robert E .Betts and his wife Sherry of Riverside, PA and David L. and his wife Donna of Danville, PA and two daughters Barbara R. Klopp and her husband Robert of Riverside, PA and Bonnie K. Diminick and her husband Ferdinand of Danville, PA.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Betts was the last living member of her immediate family being preceded in death by three brothers; Clarence, Harold and Robert Maurer. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA. with her pastor the Reverend Donald N. Hurley officiating.  Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery Williamsport, PA at 1:00 PM.  Friends will be received Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM from the funeral home and from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville, PA  17821.
