Margaret R. “Peggy” McBride, 77

Margaret R. “Peggy” McBride, 77, of 244 W Mahoning Street Danville, PA where she has resided since 1947 died Tuesday morning October 18, 2005 at the residence of her daughter, Margaret L. James of Danville, PA.  She was born March 17, 1928 in Danville, PA the daughter of the late Claude and Sarah Temple Chappell.  

She was employed in the Housekeeping Departments of  Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA and Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville, PA.  She was a member of Mahoning Presbyterian Church Danville, PA.  Mrs. McBride enjoyed collecting dolls and cookie jars.  She also enjoyed ceramics and loved going to yard sales.  She adored her family and her neighborhood children. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James R. “Bob” McBride on September 22, 2002 whom she married August 2, 1947.  In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two brothers; Bernard Chappell of Alabama and Rick Mock of Middleburg, PA..  She is also survived by three sisters; Marian Gilbert of Newark, Delaware, June Mordan of Dalton, PA and Betty Day of Washingtonville, PA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by her son, Robert E. McBride June 5, 2001 and two brothers, Gordon C. “Sonny” and Lewis C., both in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM from the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville, PA with her pastor the Reverend Judson S. Bennett officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville, PA.  Friends will be received from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
